I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but I'm guessing that after 8 days the 1D astigmatism will more or less be here to stay.

Now, as long as those reading glasses show up this afternoon as promised ... (Couldn't find any I liked locally, so I bought a pair on Amazon for £4 - courier delivery today, they promise me.) My left eye can't quite cope with the computer screen now.

My LASIK was OE; the consultation was in a different city to the operation, by someone else, and to be honest I would say the average piece of supermarket merchandise gets more individual attention. The consultation guy (who also did my 1 day followup) was very nice, at least.

I've just finished the 7 day prophylactic topical antibiotics and steroid drops today, back for the one-week check in the morning. I've been pretty paranoid about the flap; my suspicion/hope is I haven't got anything to worry about besides a bit of undercorrection and perhaps needing reading glasses for closeup work - as long as they haven't missed anything and nothing goes wrong in future.

At this point, my feeling is; I screwed up by having the procedure; I just hope the £2300 and some more discomfort is all it costs me.

No mention of monovision on the consent form, but if it's a slight accidental undercorrection I suppose that should be OK - as long as the comfort improves.

3 doses of eyedrops to go (finish tomorrow midday), one-week followup the next morning.
