Last year optimax allowed surgeons to conduct the consultation discussuion stage, but i hear they dont allow this now. However, most of the high street clinics do allow one to see the surgeon on request before surgery, it may be hard to schedule this in if the surgeon is nonresident at the clinic, so you have to bear that in mind for some places. </DIV>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://forums.lasik-eyes.co.uk//member_profile.asp?PF=2">Guests</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Two different consultation results<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 03 July 2008 at 8:59pm<br /><br /><P>&nbsp;I had opinions from ultralese guildford and focus wimpole street.&nbsp; Essentially they had different views on how best to proceed with my eyes.&nbsp; Following the consultantation I emailed some questions to Focus&nbsp;and was invited back to see the consulant.&nbsp; He was fantastic, I had already checked his creditials and I felt immediately confident in his ability.&nbsp; I moved from fact finding mission to really wanting the procedure.&nbsp; I went for surgery a week later but unfortunately the procedure was aborted on the table.&nbsp; I was one of seemingly few cases with deep set small eyes and the lasik machine could not get adequate suction.&nbsp; I was gutted but pleased Mr Ali Meazerah was sensible enough to to continue with the procedure where I believe other consultants may have done.&nbsp; Initially I felt that perhaps it was a lucky escape given some of the horror stories on hear but when I was looking for my glasses a couple of days later I contacted the clinic to see if there were any alternatives.&nbsp; &nbsp;In a few months it will be ok for me to go back and have Lasek as opposed to lasik and I am seriously considering doing so.&nbsp; Somehow I just feel he knows his stuff.&nbsp; </P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>So my advice is meet with the consultant not the person doing the eye examination, yes take another opinion and see the consultant there too.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>&nbsp;</P>]]>

Why rush such an important decision.&nbsp; Follow the instructions to help resolve the dry eye and wait for that to clear. You certainly dont want to be going ahead if you have dry eyes. </P><P>I certainly would consider having another opinion, too.</P><P>Best wishes.</P>]]>
